Body Works Powers Its Facility with Solar Energy Commissioned by Midal Solar

Body Works has officially commissioned a state-of-the-art solar power system at its Riffa facility, executed by Midal Solar, a subsidiary of Midal Cables and the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for the project.

This initiative reflects Body Works’ ongoing commitment to operational efficiency and environmental responsibility, aligning with the Kingdom of Bahrain’s national goal to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2060.

The solar system—installed across the rooftop and carpark structures—has a total capacity of 222 kWp. It is expected to generate approximately 360,000 kWh of clean electricity annually, reducing over 255 tons of CO₂ emissions every year.

Mr. Khalid Hamid Alzayani, Managing Director of Body Works, stated:

“Integrating renewable energy into our operations is an important milestone for Body Works. This system provides dependable clean energy while significantly reducing our annual emissions. It enables us to continue delivering high-quality automotive services with greater efficiency and responsibility.”

Mr. Mahmood Shamlooh, General Manager of Body Works, added:

“This project reinforces our commitment to sustainability and strengthens our ability to provide top-notch automotive services with a smaller carbon footprint. We are proud to collaborate with Midal Solar on this initiative, which reflects our shared vision of innovation and environmental responsibility.”

Mr. Rashid Hamid Alzayani, Managing Director of Midal Cables Group, commented:

“At Midal Solar, our mission is to deliver sustainable, high-performance energy solutions with technical excellence and long-term reliability. The Body Works installation demonstrates how solar systems can seamlessly integrate into industrial operations, reducing emissions while enhancing business efficiency.”

Mr. Khalid A. Latif, Group CEO of Midal Cables, added:

“As EPC contractor for this project, Midal Solar has already delivered 7.5 megawatts peak (MWp) of solar projects across Bahrain, with total capacity expected to reach 11.6 MWp by the end of this year. Each installation plays a vital role in lowering CO₂ emissions and highlights the growing contribution of the private sector to Bahrain’s clean energy transition.”

This partnership marks a significant step toward advancing solar energy adoption across the Kingdom, as Body Worksand Midal Solar continue to drive innovation, efficiency, and sustainability for a cleaner future.
